Project Lists

1. The hull was painted and has a clear coat on it that is peeling
2 The deck and cockpit area is peeling and looks like house paint on it
3. Interior has been stripped . new settie fllor going in ,new paint on all fiberglass areas,
4. Complete wiring Dc and ac
5.Reinstall all tanks fresh water and holding tanks. install 40psi fresh water pump. new tap and washdown in cockpit.
6. refinish all the woodwork interior and exterior.

Saphira our project boat

In July of 2010 we watched a boat at a marina sink while still tied to the dock, it took about 7 hours to get it up and out of the water. Al and I found out that the owners took the buy out and the boat was up for auction.  In Sept. 2010 we started the long task of restoring the boat, inside and out. We are thankful that it really didn't end up with much water damage inside, but we did have to dry it out and remove all the mold that was starting to grow, once this was done we were able to start removing parts we didn't want and start the painting.
I started the painting inside and Al and our son John started taking all the fixtures off of the deck, once they finished that they started sanding down the hull of the boat. We've made good progress but have much more to do.
We are hoping to have it finished and ready to sail for the 2011 sailing season. We'll keep you posted on our progress.

Right now we are calling the boat Saphira but could use some help with names
